"Rime Arodaky’s bridal line was born out of her cult blog La Love List. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture school graduate’s creations are all custom-made in France with a focus on fluidity and lace. We love the modern but romantic separates."
Meet Rime Arodaky
My desire to shake things up and break away from the more traditional design rules.
I try to bring a mix of style and attitude to my creations.
A backless, lace dress with a sleek silhouette.
I am inspired by everything, from blogs and pinterest to travel, outdoor cafes and fashion shows. A simple detail on a top from Zara can even give me an idea for a dress. Then I look over my inspirations, I work a lot with moodboards, I draw sketches then move forward with the ones that stand out for me. Sometimes I leave things out then come back to a sketch later on. Next we design the pattern and choose a fabric, there are often lots of changes made to the original design at this stage. Finally the first prototype is produced in the chosen material.
I don't think I have one particular favorite, but I do like long-sleeved dresses and styles that experiment with transparency. I really like to emphasize the back too.
A natural white, which doesn't appear too yellow. If it was more commercial, I would create more dresses in blush and powdered tones, they're both soft and modern at the same time. In terms of fabrics, I love embroidered tulles, in particular the macramé styles which are popular in Italy.
Folk culture and Seventies icons like Bianca Jagger, Patti Smith and Jane Birkin.
I think wedding dress trends are heading towards more fitted silhouettes with more graphic, floral lace.
